SDI diaphragm design manual - 4th ed (DDM04)

DDM04 was published in 2015 and will be referenced in the 2018 IBC. This presentation focuses in on DDM04 and the changes between it and the previous version of the Diaphragm Design Manual (DDM03). Fasteners in DDM04 include generic welds and mechanical fasteners in accordance with the strength and flexibility provisions of AISI S310. DDM04 also includes proprietary screws and power actuated fasteners calculated in accordance with DDM03. The use of these previous provisions is permitted by AISI S310 as alternate fasteners with performance substantiated by testing. Upon completion, the attendee will have a general knowledge of how requirements from DDM04 affect the design of steel deck diaphragms. 60 minutes, 1.0 PDH, 0.1 CEU
