Deck Connections and Factors that Affect Performance

Course Objectives:

  • Identify the factors influencing deck diaphragm design, including factors that affect welding performance. 

  • Compare the consistency of deck connection types and understand the working principles of Hilti mechanical fasteners.

  • Tools to support the design of deck diaphragms with Hilti mechanical fasteners

Speaker:  Chris Nelson, Field Engineer/ Michigan,  Hilti North America

Chris Nelson is the Structural Field Engineer for Hilti in the state of Michigan.  He has worked for Hilti since the beginning of 2018, and has been working in the engineering, design and construction field for the last 12 years.  As the Hilti Field Engineer, he provides technical support and training for post installed mechanical and chemical anchors, as well as powder actuated deck fastening, for engineers, architects and contractors.

This course will award 1 hour of continuing education.
