Acrisure Amphitheatre - Saginaw Valley Chapter
This SEAMi presentation will explore the design and engineering of the Acrisure Amphitheater, a new 12,000-seat riverfront venue in Grand Rapids, Michigan. Representatives from Progressive Companies and Ruby + Associates (Degenkolb) will focus on the venue’s iconic canopy structure. Spanning approximately the size of a football field and supported by two distinctive three-pronged steel columns, the canopy presented significant design, fabrication, and erection challenges. Attendees will learn how the project team transformed an organic architectural concept into an elegant steel structure, addressing critical considerations such as load paths, stability systems, fabrication constraints, and erection sequencing.
